While illustrating and experimenting there came some changes on the way i usually work. I added more details and more realistic things to give it all a nice twist to the better. In this first new illustration Miss Milica serves you a drink and some olives while you are comfy in a first class seat on your way to Japan.

details

So, many people ask me if there's a story behind the illustrations I make, and most of the times there is! When searching for inspiration in any place I try to think of funny situations, what could be happening in here or just watch people in the city doing weird/funny things, and that's how it starts. For all of you curious about this you can read a little description with the most recent illustrations:. They're displayed left bottom side in the menu.

update

It's been busy and new things are coming up. Also there's been a change in the shop: personal papertoys are no longer available, they take too long to design/make. So if you bought one then you now have a really unique design! The Punk Bot and Silly papertoys are still available for download and of course illustrations are still in the shop, limited editions, so be fast!

I'm selling a selection of illustrations (limited to 25 prints) printed on canvas and signed and numbered. Also personalized papertoys are now official AND there is a new papertoy from an illustration I made a while ago: Punk Bot. Progress is going perfect and by the end of this week/beginning next week there's going to be some extras.
Project Papertoy

Since i made my Silly Papertoy I kind of hooked to those things to experiment with them. So when a friend has his birthday I made him a personalized model! If you know the guy than you could see it's him directly. The reactions are very nice and some people allready ordered theirs. It's still not official on the site but mail me if you'd like on yourself or for a friend. Although it takes about 7 hours to make on, they sell for only 20€!

'Silly' papertoy!

This is my first papertoy ever! One morning i was drinking a coffee in a local bar and got the idea of a silly robot running around and falling into the cup, asking himself how he ended up there!

So get yourself some thick paper (120/160grams) glue and a sharp paper knife and get on it, this silly robot in a cup 'a coffee will make a great partner for your breakfast or support on your desk in the office!

new illustration: Punkbot

While looking through my old sketches I found a little doodle of a robot in punker style. I remembered this drawing beeing on my mind for a long time because it had something very nice but later I forgot all about it. Last week it showed up again and I got all exited about it, again! Here's the result. As for the papertoy of 'Silly', it's still on the cutting table and it and it's almost finished, I had no idea how hard it is to make a realistic AND easy to make coffee-cup shape out of paper! It'll be up next week for download.

new illustration: Silly

Hi! It took a while but I'm finally back with a fresh illustration. The sketch was in my book for weeks and suddenly found it again so decided to draw it, worked out well right? It's a little fellow exploring the place and suddenly finding himself in a very human 'cup of coffee' (sounds fermiliar?) The last weeks have been very busy with new things and work and the local fiestas, so since most of them have finished I have some time again for new things. One of them is a papertoy from the 'Silly' illustration which I am planning to put on the web within a week or so. As usual I'll post it in my RSS first, so don't forget to check!

It took half a year of free time to finish it but here it is then! bcnmapadearte.com. I started the projects simply because it was annoying to search for galleries in my neighborhood because of the limited listings or pages boomed with commercials or icons on the map of restaurants and other non-art stuff. In here you can search for most of the galleries and museums in Barcelona, find where you are and see directly where the nearest gallery or museum is. Even more you can select the weekday to see directly what is open and what is closed! In the next weeks there will be more functions added to the search engine and also the agenda (inaugurations, events) will be updated as soon as I receive new information.

showcase faulty on Safari and Chrome, sigh..

One of the reasons I left webdesign was that there was huge time to spend on getting every browser spit out the same result when looking at the design. For that reason I tried to keep my own website simple without to much technical things. But what do you know.. Turns out Safari and Chrome display only half of the page and the rest disapears underneath the top. So for now please use any other browser (firefox is favorite!) to view the content. I'll be back (again) on redesigning end of this week.

It's from Acquired Collective. They send out old objects like play-cards, vinyl or postcards from the early days and then it's up to you to make an art-piece with it. Oh, and in the meantime i'm working on new vector illustrations like u're used from me, next week i'll post the new ones.

new artwork

As an exception to my illustrations i like to work on robot-art in my freetime. This work here is made form scratch and a little paint. Main ingredients are: jackplugs, ceiling ventilator, mobile phone buttons and screen, a little lighter and some switches and toy's electronica. After activating it with the nose-switch, it has about 8 phrases which go random as you push one of the buttons on front. Also the mouth lights up when as it speaks. Cool huh! If i find the time i'll put more images on my coroflot page.
